A gaited jenny bred to a gaited jack produces a gaited donkey. Gaited Jenny Ruth is one of the best gaited jennies we have seen in person or on film. The American Gaited Mule Association will register a donkey produced from an AGMA registered jack and a registered jenny without requiring a demonstration of gait video. Gaited Jenny Ruth has AGMA registration, which certifies that she is gaited. In a lateral gait the legs on each side move forward together with the rear leg hitting before the front leg. The flat foot walk, running walk, rack, and paso gait are lateral gaits. The foxtrot is a smooth diagonal gait, which means that the front leg on one side moves with the back leg on the other side with the front leg hitting before the rear leg. Our gaited jenny Ruth does a flat walk, running walk, rack, and foxtrot depending on the terrain and her speed. Gaited Jenny Ruth has excellent conformation and good feet. She is 13-2, sturdily built, with straight legs and good-sized feet, which we think is important since mules tend to have really small feet for their size. Gaited Jenny Ruth has a pretty head with long, beautiful ears. Gaited Jenny Ruth is a deep burgundy and gray color. Her back legs set in a little, which we have noticed is indicative of a gaited donkey. And gait she does as is evident in this short clip of Gaited Jenny Ruth. Ruth is gentle and loving. She gets along well in the pasture with both horses and mules. She will stand up for herself when pushed, but really wants to just get along.
